When I start a new painting, I see it as stepping through a doorway into a different dimension of myself. I leave behind the 9 to 5 graphic designer, the husband, dad, dog dad, fix-it guy, bill payer, cook, etc. and go to that place where it’s just me and the paints and the canvas.
